Where do outdoor sessions take place?

I have a list of locations you can choose from throughout the year! What's your preference? Flowers, mountain, hills, field, pond, at home, or in a studio? I've got you covered.

What time are photo sessions at?

Ideally about 1-2 hours before sundown or 1-2 hours after sunrise on sunny days. Cloudy days we can get away with photographing earlier in the day. I will be checking the weather and keeping you updated so being flexible is key. I will reschedule in case of rain. For indoor sessions, mid-morning is my favorite. Also, I use flash indoors in case we have less-than-ideal lighting in your home or at a studio.

Will you help us with our outfits?

Absolutely! In general, soft neutral pastel colors are my favorite. And depending on your location of choice and size of family being photographed, I'll help in more specific ways as well!

We're awkward in front of the camera. Will you help pose us?

Definitely! We'll take some "say 'cheese' photos but the majority of photos will be candid. I'll guide your family the whole time. And just remember: you can't ruin your own photos. ;)

What should I bring?

Some snacks (to bribe the kids) and water (we often move a lot and you'll be glad you brought it), and extra clothes (if we're by water. Kids have a way to find themselves in it).

Can I bring my dog?

For most places, yes! And if it's at a venue I will double check to see if they allow pets. They usually do as long as you don't let them use the bathroom everywhere....or at least pick up after them.

When should I schedule our session?

At least 2 weeks ahead of time will allow me to properly prepare you for your session as well as give you time to look for outfits if needed. But as early as 6 weeks in advance if you want to reserve a specific date or backdrop. It'll allow me time to make sure, for example, the flowers will be in season, the leaves will be turning colors; etc.
