The Backstory

I am so excited to be sharing about this topic! One session in particular, early in my first year of running a photography business, completely changed my perspective on what I could offer to families.

After delivering a family gallery that they were absolutely thrilled with (they even purchased the full gallery!), I should have been over the moon. And while I was happy with the quality of photos I’d delivered, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was missing. They didn’t see the vision I had when I took those photos or the story I wanted to tell through them. Instead, they simply received a batch of digital files—files I knew could be so much more.

And honestly, who could blame them? I was the photographer with the vision, not them. As a lifestyle photographer, I aim to tell a complete story with my images. But unless I could help families see and experience that vision, the photos would just sit as a digital archive—likely overwhelming in quantity (yes, I’m guilty of over-delivering!).

Why I Chose to Offer Prints

Since becoming a print-based photographer, everything has changed. Now, I can take the story I photograph and bring it to life by creating meaningful artwork for families. My favorite way to do this? Heirloom albums.

These albums are more than just collections of photos; they’re timeless keepsakes. They allow families to relive their moments together, beautifully curated, and crafted to last for generations. I love knowing that these albums aren’t just for now—they’re something families can pass down to their kids, and even duplicate to share with grandparents.
